Candids with Kelly

Kelly Bishop | Studio Lead – Deloitte Digital
When Kelly joined us in Chicago this summer for a formal interview and photoshoot featured a few weeks ago on the site, she also showed us her candid side which is representative of her day-to-day work wear.
Because the Digital space is more startup-focused, the dress code is far more casual, with jeans being the norm. As a result, Kelly is usually found in dark jeans, with a blouse and a blazer instead of a full suit.
Kelly can still remember her first client pitch trip for Deloitte and what she was planning to wear – the partner on the pitch told her “you can’t wear that; you have to wear jeans!” Not having brought any jeans, Kelly ditched the blazer to dress down her look.
Knowing what to wear in a more tech-friendly environment is tough, but if you stick to tailored dark jeans, blouses and button-ups with blazers, paired with heels or good-looking flats (keep your shoes closed-toed) you’ll remain put together.
When coming across as well dressed in more casual settings the details become even more important – sharply tailored blazers, quality denim, great accessories. It’s paramount that even with more casual clothing the overall look is polished – which gets tougher when the fabrics become softer and less structured.
