Comfort Amidst Chaos While on Camera

When the current climate is catastrophic, and it is challenging to contain your composure, care for yourself with comfortable clothing.

Concerns for our safety (physical, mental, financial, career, future) can be all comprising, and caustic to our confidence. When that is the case, I like to count on comfy clothes to provide a warm cozy cocoon; and when that is coupled with a need to consult while on camera (hello Webex video, I hate you) instead of just via conference call, I choose to chill in cashmere. Irish Irony |

First of all, I miss you, and I hope that throughout the past year you have fared well. I also miss writing and sharing the consulting lifestyle with you – though that lifestyle has changed quite drastically over the last 12 months.

This year has been immeasurably difficult for so many reasons, and I want to acknowledge and sympathize with all the pain and difficulty the world has faced, which is why I have refrained from posting this last year.

As we begin to heal and look towards the future, I would like to take a moment to comment briefly in a non-corporate focused post (since we are not all back in offices yet… though I did just sign a contract for a new office space yesterday!!).

Hi All!

I’ve missed you, but have been quiet out of respect for all that has been going on in the world - a world where suits are less important than sensitivity.

However, amidst the recent social media silence there are a few things in progress that I’m excited about, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to meet with @parkcitytv tomorrow to discuss!

Cheers to the First Year!
Wow, The Consultant’s Closet is One! Cannot believe it has already been a whole year since the first post went live April 2nd, 2019.
While the last three weeks have been exceptionally unexpected - changed a lot of priorities and shifted how I was planning to celebrate the milestone - I am extremely grateful nonetheless for the opportunity to recognize such an achievement, and to have spent the last year getting to travel around the country both supporting my clients, but also conducting photoshoots in some of our country’s greatest cities - cities that I love, and know are being so impacted by our world’s current events.
Being able to conceptualize an idea, see it to fruition, and then maintain it on a defined schedule for a year is not an easy undertaking – especially when needing to balance full-time clients, travel, and other business focuses.

While what is happening in the world right now is affecting all of us in different ways, and I am taking some time away from frequent outfit focused posts to be respectful of the current climate, I do want to take a moment to celebrate (here are some of your favorite posts from this past year!), recognize the occasion, and thank you for all of your support.
Thank you all for your gracious attention – I truly hope you have found value from the content, guidance and recommendations that have been shared thus far. Should you need resume support as a result of what is transpiring in the world affecting your position - please reach out and I will do everything in my power to help.

Call to Action: We are all being impacted by the current events albeit differently – for some it means adjusting to a remote work structure (the focus of the today’s post), for many it means losing work, compensation, opportunities, investments, security, and there are also so many who are continuing to serve, support and protect. While so much is uncertain and quite frankly terrifying right now, please remember to be kind – check in with your neighbors, coworkers, friends and evaluate how you may be able to help (support doesn’t need to be in person to be helpful – ex. financial donations). And remember the inverse of fear is gratitude – counting the blessings you have immediately transitions the brain from a negative to a positive mindset, and it takes a positive focus to be able to develop solutions.

Wondering About World Trade?

Amidst all the Coronavirus concerns, and the current stock market drop one can’t help but wonder, what will the impact to world trade be? Where do we go from here when whole portions of the world are cordoned off?

While it’s easy to let our fears grow out of proportion and allow the news cycle to perpetuate a sense of anxiety and worry, it’s best to remember that we’ve always rebuilt, and come back even stronger. There’s no place that is a greater reminder of our will than at the 9/11 memorial. What occurred there almost 19 years ago is unspeakably horrific, but the strength the memorial represents of the ability to keep going is powerful, and something to never forget.
