Closed Contracts in the Cold

Currently on cloud nine as I just confirmed my next client contract, and it will be in a cold climate! Closing a new client takes a lot of work – and this one is a great example of why building relationships is always important. I landed this engagement because of work and relationships I built in 2013! And I’ve spent over 6 months working to finalize this opportunity. While I won’t go into any details due to client confidentiality – suffice it to say, I couldn’t be more excited to be kicking off a new engagement. The thrill of new people to work with, a new problem to solve, a new city to travel to – it’s what makes consulting so continuously challenging and compelling.

Because I’ll be traveling to a freezing climate I’ve adapted my wardrobe a bit to accommodate the chilly temperatures. For this cold weather confident outfit I’ve paired my classic black sheath dress with a black shearling leather jacket. Sometimes on the coldest of days a fitted jacket can be the best layer to consider. I found this jacket this winter at a fabulous resale shop in Salt Lake City – NameDroppers. They had the most amazing selection of gorgeous luxury apparel – when I saw this brand-new jacket – I knew I had to have it. From making it more formal for the office for a fierce look, to taking it casual for after hours – I absolutely adore this coat. And given the miserably cold temperatures in NYC on this day – was exceptionally thankful for its warmth! And while I probably wouldn’t elect to wear heels in the snow – I prefer the balance the heel provides to counter the cut of the jacket.

Closed contracts are always something to celebrate! Cheers!

All my best,
