Stellar Style

Some days you need to stun – select stellar styles and you’ll shine like a star.

This year’s holiday season granted plenty of time to read – a major treat as I really hadn’t been reading much over the last several years. While recovering from significant trauma, it was hard for me to sit still and focus on anything superficial; anything that wasn’t actively supporting the stabilization of my life wasn’t a priority. Slowly however I’ve been able to segue into self-silence and enjoy the sensory simulations a great book provides.

And speaking of stellar stars – I just wrapped up two very interesting reads both with a starry focus.

The first:

The Book of Strange New Things by Michel Faber – a very interesting literary take on science fiction. It’s a pleasure to read as the book provides a very vivid and thoughtful depiction of life, love, doubt, and trust… though I have qualms with how it ended.

The second:

The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern – the second book by this author (the first is The Night Circus – outstanding read). A gorgeous transportation into a magical world where stories are revered. It is captivating and feels like a Baz Luhrmann movie (Romeo + Juliet, Moulin Rouge, The Great Gatsby) it’s so intense with stimulation and imagery.

So, when seeking style to support your success, the secret is to select subtle classics that are well suited. Upgrading your basic pieces and choosing those that offer sheen still allows your skill to show. I love these pants, their simple style is not to be underestimated – it is the quality of the fabric, and the expertise of the tailoring that makes them shine. Paired with a classic sheath top and a standout blazer the overall look while monochromatic is stunning.

Start your year with your sights set on the stars, and you’ll see success.

All my best,
